Telegram Messenger is the first Instant Messaging app that allows you to Setup a username. Now you can setup a public user name on Telegram Messenger.This will you other telegram users to find you using your username.your name will appear in contacts search under ‘global results’. Remember this will allow any user to sent you messages to even if they dont know your number. Setuping a Username in Telegram is very easy task, Go to Settings and Setup a username that is available.

> Username must be atleast 5 Character long. you can use a-z, 0-9, and underscores.

Do I need a username?

Username is not a Must thing in telegram. if you want a username youcan setup it, Telegram just want to help others to find you easily by searching your username.

What happens If someone finds me by username?

Any user in Telegram user can Find You by seraching your username and they are able to sent messages to you and also you can reply.But both parties cant see the contact Number, this means your contact number cant find by searching your username.

Is it Possible to Delete a Username.

Yes. You can delete your name if you dont like that.This will remove your username, people will no longer be able to find you via search. Go to settings and leave Username field as Empty and save.
